9 Golf Clubs Across the Pond to Follow on Instagram

Over the last several years, more and more golf clubs across the pond have joined Instagram.

Many have recognized the ability of the platform to showcase their club to a worldwide audience.

But when it comes to Instagram and social media at large, the best golf clubs to follow in Scotland, Ireland, and England all have one thing in common…

They use Instagram to consistently share unique and engaging content that appeals to both members and visitors alike.

If you need a little inspiration in your feed, here are 9 golf clubs in Scotland, Ireland, and England to follow on Instagram.

Royal Dornoch

Royal Dornoch Golf Club has one of the best Instagram feeds around. It helps that Matthew Harris, an outstanding golf photographer, calls Dornoch home and spends plenty of time capturing the beauty of the links. If you give them both a follow, your feed will be better off.

Royal Portrush

Even before the 148th Open arrived, Royal Portrush was one of the best golf clubs to follow on Instagram. A distinction that promises to continue in the lead up to the return of The Open in 2025.

Portmarnock

Not only is Portmarnock Golf Club one of the most storied clubs in Ireland, it’s also a club you’ll want to follow on Instagram. Their frequent updates from around the links are certain to provide a great start or end to your day.

Old Head

In the category of “Instagram worthy golf courses,” Old Head Golf Links is at or near the top of the list. If you’ve seen it first-hand, you know exactly what we mean. If you haven’t, their feed will make you want to plan a trip… Soon.

Muirfield

When Muirfield joined Instagram at the end of 2020, we were both delighted and surprised. But just as you’d expect from a club the likes of Muirfield, their Instagram account is outstanding. Although we’ve noticed they’ve gone a little quiet since this Christmas post. Hopefully, for the sake of all of our feeds, the hiatus is a brief one.

Royal Liverpool

Since 2012, Royal Liverpool Golf Club has showcased their historic club on Instagram in brilliant fashion. That makes it one of the longest running Instagram accounts among golf clubs across the pond. We look forward to more of the same in the build up to the 2023 Open Championship.

North Berwick

The West Links at North Berwick Golf Club is another great example of an “Instagram worthy” course. The club takes full advantage of the distinction, providing frequent updates from around its magical links.

Castlerock

Instagram gives golf clubs that may otherwise go overlooked a chance to reach and inspire a broader audience. The Instagram account for Castlerock Golf Club is a perfect example. After giving them a follow, there’s a good chance that you’ll want to add a round at Castlerock the next time you visit its famous neighbor in Portrush.

Durness

In addition to highlighting overlooked courses, Instagram is great for showcasing golf clubs way off the well worn path. For example, Durness Golf Club… The most north westerly golf course on the British mainland, Durness is a 9-hole links in a setting that is simply spectacular. But we think it’s better to let the pictures do the talking…

Those are nine of our favorite golf clubs on Instagram from Scotland, Ireland, and England. But just for good measure, here’s a few additional accounts for your feed…
