What's Next – FAQs from Deposit to Departure

Common Questions Between Now and Then

This stage of the journey naturally brings a few questions, but a simple one often rises above the rest...

What's Next?

Here are several important things to keep in mind as the countdown to your Expedition continues.

Payments & Key Dates

Your Expedition investment is typically divided into three installments:

1. Initial Deposit

2. Second Payment

  • Due October 1st of the year prior to travel. If your deposit was placed after September 1st of the year prior, this payment is due within 30 days of your deposit.

3. Final Payment

  • Calculated 90 days before departure to reflect any itinerary adjustments or exchange-rate updates.
  • Due 60 days prior to your departure.

Your Expedition Planning Manager is always available should you have questions about timing or totals.

Itinerary Details

Approximately two weeks prior to departure, your Final Marching Orders with your complete itinerary will be send to your preferred mailing address. This is also when your digital itinerary loads into the H&B mobile app.

Until then, our team is continuing to refine details behind the scenes, including the Good Life components that elevate your journey.

H&B Mobile App

A favorite among our Members, the H&B app for iPhone and Android offers a beautifully organized, content-rich presentation of your Expedition.

Inside you’ll find:

  • Your full day-by-day itinerary
  • Maps and notable locations
  • Weather forecasts
  • Flight information and tracking
  • A library of Tips & Advice for before and during your journey

Your itinerary is visible in the app approximately two weeks before departure. It’s designed to provide clarity, convenience, and peace of mind throughout your journey.

Dining Reservations & the Good Life

Many Members ask when they should make dinner reservations and how many nights should be planned. The short answer: It depends on your group.

If you’re:

  • A party of eight or more,
  • Celebrating a special occasion, or
  • Hoping to secure a particular restaurant

…it always wise to book a few key evenings in advance.

Your H&B Concierge will reach out to your Group Captain 60–90 days before departure to discuss dining preferences, share vetted recommendations, and assist with reservations.

We always encourage leaving a night or two open to allow for spontaneity, local suggestions from your driver-host, or the pleasant surprises that often emerge along the way.

A Note on Packing

As your departure nears, one of the most common questions we hear is: What should I pack?

Your Final Marching Orders and the H&B mobile app both include a detailed packing list.

But if you're looking to get a head start, our guide to packing has you covered.

It’s a helpful resource whether this is your first Expedition or your fifth.
